Hi. Is there a way to make them communicate?,just need to exchange 1 word of data. It is 10 points rev.c controller. Thanks.

As you may have already discovered they don't share a common communication protocol.
Obviously you could do it with a LOT of digital I/O, but you may not want that, especially if separated by a large distance.
How often do you want to exchange data (1 word - 16 bit -sent each way)?

Basically,just need to write to AB start cycle and receive back cycle done.(cycle in average 30 sec).
All digital io's are used.

Thanks anyways, not a problem, i have a small S7 to replace AB, it talks Modbus,..just a bit more of work and money:).

You could use 2 outputs and 2 inputs. One output is the clock and the other output changes state for all 16 bits.

Is the 1000 not one of the uLogii that do Modbus? Many of them do (and even SLC's these days!)

That's an old unit, may be newer 1000s are able talking Modbus, I don't know.

only way i can think is adding a small operator interface like the cmore that have multiples comm ports and multiple protocols so it can talk to both of them
