I would like to set up a 485 network to communicate with a DL006 (secondary port), a C-More Micro, and 2 GS3 drives using the MODBUS RTU protocol. It appears the C-More Micro has to be the master on the network, but I believe I need the PLC to be the master of the network so I can send and receive from the GS3's. I wish to do this so I can have the network up and running, the machine operational, and be able to go online with the PLC for troubleshooting. Any previous experiences or help would be appreciated. There can only be one master on a Modbus RTU network.
Consider setting up two networks. One with the DL06 and the drives where the DLO6 is the master. The second with the DL06 and the C-More Micro with the C-More Micro as master. I have done that with a DL06, a 6 " C-More, and a SureServo drive.

If you do set up 2 networks, can you still be online with the PLC while things are connected and running?

If you have a spare slot in the DL06 you could install an ECOM module in it. Otherwise you will have to disconnect one of the serial ports to go online with DirectSoft.
