Using a DL06 as a remote rack

I have a DL06 sitting collecting dust, I also have some analog cards for it, since I need some analog inputs into my DoMore system, can I throw the DL06 onto my rs485 network? And MRX and MWX to and from it from the DoMore? I also have a Ecom100 for it too, but I could use it if I would be taxing the 485 network too much. Thanks for the help!

if you use the ECOM-100 check out use of the PEERLINK function to make the transfer nearly automatic.

Interesting, now for this to work, I have to pull the analog data to a v memory location on the 06 then the do more will look at that location right?

I dont see how this would be any easier than the Mrx and Mwx on the domore to the modbus registers on the dl06. This way all code would be on the DoMore and the 06 would be blank.

Am I missing something? Ive been known to be a block head.....

Depending on the analog cards in the DL06, once configured they should automatically process their information to/from V memory.

The ECOM100 in the DL06 would be configured to Publish the local analog IN locations and Subscribe to information for the local analog OUT locations.

Similarly in the DoMore System its Ethernet port (if you are using the on-board one) or an ECOM-100 (if you have added one on) will Subscriber to the remote analog IN readings and Publish the data for the remote analog OUT locations.

Once set up there is no more active code needed. The exchanges of info would be automatic (ten times a second).

Ok, I thought I would have to do the pointer setup on the 06, forgot its automatic.

Would this tax the bandwidth alot? Im using the ethernet port on the DoMore for Cmore comms.

You would still have to do the pointer setup in ladder.

OK, and if I were to do the rs485 comms I still would. I was just trying to not load my ethernet down. If I were to do discrete I would use say V2000:1 for my bit, right?

I am sorry, I do not understand your question.

Since for Peer, you use V memory, Im asking that I would address a discrete device using :1 behind the v location to turn that bit on or off. Casting

In the 06 and DirectSOFT, it would be B2000.1 for the 2nd bit of V2000.
