We just wrapped up a project using several DL06 CPU's and everything has been working fine. I just recently attempted to go online to make a couple of slight modifications, and I encountered an "Enter Password " prompt and subsequent error. The funny thing is that I never assigned a password to the CPU and I'm the only one with physical and network access to that PLC. I 've attempted access via Ethernet through the ECOM100 module and also via Port 1, but I still get the same error. We are using an 8 " C-more via Ethernet for our HMI (don't know if that is relevant, but I just wanted to share). Port 2 is also used for peer-to-peer communications to other DL06 PLC's, and this CPU is the Master. Is there any chance that something got corrupt, and if so is there any way to remedy the situation? Any help on this matter will be greatly appreciated as this PLC is installed in a 24/7 operation and to replace or send back to AD would be the final option. Thanks in advance!

Since you don't have the password your only option for this particular unit is to send it to AD to be erased. Get a replacement unit first so you can download for use while the first CPU is being erased. When you get it back you have a spare. There is no work-around. I have never heard of a password 'just appearing ' in a CPU.

If the HMI is working correctly (reading and writing values) then the password must consist of the capital letter 'A ' followed by exactly 7 numerals. Maybe not much help.
