I'm trying to find a document I ran across once before on the AD website. It showed all the Directsoft file extensions and what the file does (ladder logic, comments, etc...) Thanks

The file I like is at Host Engineering . It also shows what is saved.
You can also look in Directsoft help file - search for File Save Affected Elements

Ok--thanks--now here is the reason I was looking for this.....If I create a program for a DL06 and change the retentive range for the "C " elements for the default to something else, then write the changes to disk. Then save the program....when In load the program into a new PLC out of the box, do the default retentive ranges get used, or the changed range? Looks like the VD file extension is where the data is stored--I think. Anyway to compare that from one program to the next?

Ours seem to - though the only way you can prove it to yourself is actually try it.
I don't think you can verify it offline though.
As a side note I don't believe the secondary com port setup is preserved. We use ladder logic to recreate that in each unit.
