DSoft5 seeing 06 as 260?

I'm trying to connect to a DL06, something I have done regurly for a year now. And now DirectSoft5 is seeing it a 260? And won't let me write my program to it? What the hell is going on? My connection is remote. So i can just run over and fix it.

Somehow the connected PLC type was set to a 260. There are a few ways that it can happen, usually by accident editing a link. Directsoft should give you a warning that the connected PLC type doesn't match, but if you ignore the warning you can still get online with the program.
Check your link in the link editor. You should be able to disconnect and edit it back to being a DL06.

I tried to force it see it as an 06 but when the link connects it say that the plc type is wrong and sets it back to a 260.

Can you run the link wizard and create the link from scratch? If it's still a 260 then something is wrong at the remote end (swapped cables, remapped slave IDs, changed IP addresses, etc.).
What are the attributes of your link, i.e. port, protocol, id, etc.

Im using an ECOM100.
I can pink the ECOM module and see the webpage that you get if you type the ip address in the url bar.
I 've tried to set up new links. All the same problem.
I make the new link, select the DL06. Then when i click continue it it say that the PLC type is wrong and won't enable the link until it changes it to a 260. Then when I go into the program. I get a notice that the PLC type is wrong again. And it tell me how to fix it... However when i do that again... It keeps saying that the 06 is the wrong type... Round and round i go. I 've tried reseting every thing. My computer, the PLC (called and had some one cycle the power) the router on the far end...

Using Net Edit, see if you have multiple ECOMs with the same IP address. You can sort by IP Address. Does your DirectSOFT link use IP or IPX protocol (I'm guessing you 're using IP).

Besides what franji suggest, it could be dangerous, but if you can hook up, put the plc in program mode and have someone on the other end look to see if it actually does. If not you are connected to some other plc. Could be dangerous do that so be careful.
Netedit should tell you what you are connecting to. I think once you connect to the ecom100 you can do a cpu test and it should tell you what cpu it is connected to.

Pointing out what has already been said. He is remote and Netedit won't work through a router and neither will IPX.

Correct, can't use net edit or IPX. And there is no other device on the internal network other than the DL06 and the HMI... So unless they some how put in a new plc there is no way.... They didn't so i know its an error of some type

dieseltwitch, NetEdit just displays what it gets back from the H0-ECOM100 read from a certain register in the DL06. So, it certainly doesn't make any sense to us what you are seeing.
When you say it is "remote " do you mean you are trying to see it over the Internet? Or a VPN? Or a different network locally?
And if any of those is what you mean by "remote ", can you have your customer plug directly into that network, download & install NetEdit (it's free from our website: www.hosteng.com ), and see if he can see it?
