Hi, Can someone please advise me if I need use HSIO I am counting pulses that are 12ms. I see the specification listed for my D0-06DD1 minimum pulse width 100us for the HS inputs X0-X3. The listing is N/A for minimum pulse width on standard DC inputs. Is this due to the scan time. How can I monitor the scan time of the DL06? I see no mention of it in the Direct Soft5 Debugging and Monitoring chapter in the user manual. Thanks for any advise. Regards Keklon

The standard inputs are going to be limited by scan time. To see your current scan time, I forgot where it is but it should be under 'PLC settings ' or something of that nature. It's in the same area that is used to setup communications and other PLC options. If you 're scan time is longer than 12ms you can always resort to using interrupts.

To be counted using standard counters the pulse ON time and the pulse OFF time must each be longer than the scan time.

Since the high speed counter functions are built in for the DC input models it doesn't cost anything to use them.

OK, I'm already using my internal HSIO. Mode 20 up/down counter for a different part of my control program and that works fine. I ask about the DL06 standard inputs to see weather or not I need a HSIO module? If I seem a bit confused please bare with me.

I'd say you may be pushing it. Even if it's 12 ms ON and 12 ms OFF. The relevant lines show a 4ms typical OFF->ON and ON->OFF response times. You can try it and see. Or if you have a spare slot get the high speed counter module.
