The data register in a program was set to default today. This sets it for only 2 characters. The program was using 3 digit data, so now the interface cant be used properly. How do I edit the data register settings? I'm sorry if the info in my question isn't perfect. its been a really long day. This was my first time working with directsoft. there were to many hands in the soup. Please help if you can.

You really need to start with which PLC/CPU.
Then completely describe the situation - these are the registers I'm using. These are the conditions. this is what I get. This is what I want.
We need to have enough information completely understand what you are talking about.

I'm sorry, friday was a long day. I beleive the PLC is a prologic 250. We are using a simple touch pad with a basic lcd screen. The registers being used are some timer and some V registers, less than greater than. The condition is you can only type 2 digit numbers into the touch pad. before the default was pressed you could type in at least three, maybe more but three digit numbers are all thats needed. After the default was saved all numbers that were in the registers with more than 2 digits changed to zero. Some of the timers were using 2 digit numbers and it seems like they were not effected.

I think your most productive move will be to contact those who programmed the PLC and display.
While I assume that the PLC is a DL-250 I have no idea what the display is. Please supply any numbers on the back of the display which may identify it.

I understand what your saying. I wish there was someone to contact or a backup program to reference. I will do the best I can to get more information Monday morning.
I thought there may be someone here who had used directsoft and might know how to access the data register settings. The manual I have made it easy to understand what happened but I can't seem to find information on were to change it back.

There is an easy way to access these values. It's the Directsoft programming package. But it would be nice if you totally understand the PLC program and the display program before starting to change things.
And which manual are you referring to? One covering the PLC, the display or the entire machine as supplied by the machine manufacturer?

The direct soft programming manual. The machine was custom built. There is no schematics or any other info for it. If i would have seen what window the guy had open when he hit the default button I could find the place to fix the problem. I will see if I can get more info tomorrow. I will see what version the software is and what the touch pad is.

There is only one Directsoft programming package. So the critical piece of information is the model of the display.
The machine was custom built. There is no schematics or any other info for it.
Being custom built is no excuse for there not being full documentation for it. It ends up costing more since it's 'one of ' documentation, but that's part of the price of custom equipment. Somebody got a bad deal somewhere.
As long as your company owns all rights to the program we'll help you as much as we can.
