I have a customer that has maxed out his DL06 and from the reading I have done there is no simple way to expand I/O on that unit. We have a need to monitor and log another 5 TCs in Lookout. These are reference-only parameters and are not needed in the DL06. What would be a simple (and hopefully inexpensive) way to get these TCs into Lookout 4.5? Thanks!

porear, is there a way to increase I/O? For example:
- change 4-ch modules to 8-ch modules? What modules do you currently have?
- change Lookout E-COM comm to serial and use the E-COM slot for additional module? How do you comm to Lookout?
- can you multiplex signals into the DL06? using a second DL06 with analog output and digital output for example.
- use a second DL06 and communicate the values to the first DL06, using ECOM or serial?
BUT, when all said and done, it might be easier, cheaper, and allow room for expansion, to use a second DL06 and put on Lookout ECOM (or serial) network.
I'm assuming you want to stick with the DL06? Another idea, although more money, complexity, and panel space, is to upgrade the DL06 to a DL205. Hope this helps.

Thanks KPrice, I appreciate the response. Sorry about the lack of detail regarding my hardware in the first post.
We have looked through the permutations of swapping cards, but there isn't much wiggle room. We should revisit base options though, thanks for the tips. We have
Base D0-06DR, using 15 relays out of 16 and 5 DIs
Slot 1 -08ADH, using 5 AIs out of 8
Slot 2 -04THM, using 4 TCs out of 4
Slot 3 -04THM, using 1 TC out of 5
Slot 4 -08TR, using 5 relays out of 8
I need an additional 5 TCs, I have 3 spares currently. If there were an 8 TC card my issue would be solved. I suppose another idea might be to seek a standalone TC conditioning module that converted to voltage or current for which I would get an 8 input DL06 card, but trying to keep recurring calibration to the minmum.
Was hoping there was some simple ethernet temperature I/O device that would be on the Lookout driver list.
Will also look at a second DL06. We talk to the DL06 over serial at the moment, so using E-COm would mean moving one of the existing cards to the second rack to accommodate the comm module.
Thanks very much again.

porear,
Yes, I see you 're max-ed out.
I was thinking that you were using Ethernet, and could save a slot by going with serial. But you 're already using serial.
As far "a simple ethernet temperature I/O device ", there is the Terminator I/O.
For LookoutDirect, this would be Modbus serial - if you 're using LookoutDirect?
Have you looked at National Instruments Field I/O, FieldPoint?
But, as I like the DL PLCs, I'd go with the second DL06, or if you have panel space and money, go with the DL205.
