Tomorrow I'm going to purchase the PLC Logic Developer module of GE Proficy Machine Edition in order to make some changes to a machine that my company recently acquired. I am pretty familiar with DirectSoft but I have no experience with anything from GE. Does anyone have any tips on what I can do to become more familiar with the software quickly or maybe things to avoid? Just looking for things from experienced users to make the transition a little easier. Processor is a 90-30 BTW. Thanks.

You should not have any problems adjusting. GE uses a very basic insturction set, unlike RS-Logix or even Directsoft. It is bad because you often need several rungs to accomplish a task that could be done by a single instruction. However, it is good in that it is easy to adapt to and understand. I have used A-B, GE, and A-D. GE probably has the shortest learning curve, however I don't think anyone can touch A-D on documentation and support. In short, don't worry you will not see any surprises. :)
