Hello everyone ! I'm a new member of this interesting Forum and I already have a question ... I have a PLC Direct Logic D0-06DR which main Port is RJ12-6p6c for communication RS-232, and I also have the Cable DS-DSCBL (RJ12 male to DB9 female) for Programming (Upload and Download the Software). The Question is: May I use an RS-232 Adapter to go from DB9 to USB, so I can plug into my Laptop ?? Thanks !!

If you are using the USB port on the laptop, then using a USB to serial adaptor, you can connect to the PLC. AD has a module, EA-MC-PGM-CBL which will do the trick. This would not involve a DB9 connector. Notice that the DL06 has a DB15 port which also supports RS-232 for the PLC, but is not a DB9.

If your laptop does have a 'rel ' serial port, then you would purchase the cable from AD. I think it is D2-DSCBL. If you have a tool to make your own J12 to DB9F , then just make your own. The wiring diagrams I think, are in the DL06 manual(s). I have wired a 'custom ' cable to use DL06 Port2 (DB15) for RS-232. Takes a little work.

There is also a RJ12-DB15 connector module, FA-15HD.

I use EA-MC-PGM-CBL (mentioned above) with DL06 Port1 for programming and the Port2 to communicate with a Cmore 3 " micro.

    Have fun.:D

Yes you can, just buy one of the following:

    http://www.automationdirect.com/adc/Shopping/Catalog/Ethernet_-z-_Serial_-z-_Wireless_Comm./Serial/Serial_Isolators_-a-_Converters/USB-RS232

Works very well and easy to change the COM port assigned to it when you install it.

UGH - just noticed this question was posted again even after it was already responded to and 'closed ' by the original poster.
