I'm little new with PLC's and very much willing to learn more. My question is I have a DL05 PLC with a F0-08ADH-2 Analog Card. Can I use a DC-Voltage with the Negatived tied to the common and Postive to Input Channel 1 for a input and monitor the fluxuation in voltage?

Depending on the jumper settings you can measure up to 5VDC or up to 10 VDC.

This might help...
Here's a link to the Automation Direct manual for the DL05/06 option cards. Chapter 6 discusses the analog voltage card you mentioned.

All user manuals for the Automation Direct line can be found on their website.

Make sure I understand Correctly. If the jumper is set for 10 Volts, I can hook a battery 12 volt Battery to a Rheostat and mesaure the voltage change, as long as I do not exceed 10 Volts and currtent? And the negative lead to COM and postive lead to a Channel Input?
I was not sure if the power hace to come from the PLC and if it was oksy to use just a two wire system with external power source...
Thanks

From the looks of the specs on page 6-3, the 12 volts may not hurt it either.

YES

Essentially, what you are doing is the "4 wire voltage transmitter " example on page 6-6.
You do also have to supply the module with 24 volts DC. This is to run the electronics in the module.
Good Luck,

Thanks
After reviewing Chapter 6 I realized i had misread the hook up of an analog device....
