I am using a D4-HSC to read the quadrature input from an encoder on a drive. It's working fine but when I power down the machine, the counter apparently puts a 0 into it's count thereby erasing any previous count info. I would like to retain this count info after power down but I cannot think how to move this data without also getting the 0 that it is changed to on power-up. In other words I cannot just move the data because on power up the 0 at startup will get moved over the previous data.
