I'm working on an energy management system for our facility, and would like the ability to monitor energy usage in each of the buildings. I want to display current usage (kW) and total consumption (kWh) on an HMI. What would be the best way to do this (getting the information into a DL-260)? I 've been looking at various products, but would like some input. :) Thanks! Chris

The most accurate way for each location with a separate power utility meter is to have the utility add a pulse relay to the meter. They usually do that at low cost.

Load Controls Corp. has some economical kW transmitters.

You can install a power meter and connect it directly via Modbus to your D2-260 Port 2. Then you have access to a whole lot of variables including kW, kWh, current on each phase etc.

One of the providers is http://www.frer.it/indexing1.htm

I have used the EIB Shark 100S wireless ethernet power meter. these cost $700.00 ea. They have great range and allow you to monitor many power quality functions. because its wifi you can install in short order and start getting data without alot of wiring.
