Years back I made a automatic bag maker/sealer with a DL05/6 " ez touch HMI and an existing red loin encoder counter that counts number of inches to make different sizes a bags and close s dry contacts to give me input signal to the PLC.I want to replace the red loin control and just use the PLC.What is a good encoder/ counter module I can purchase to start this project? I want to input inches I want in my existing EZ touch screen to do this.

If you are using the 05/06 just buy H0-CTRIO HIGH SPEED COUNTER INTERFACE MODULE for it and use the incoder to input the count into the module.

If your project isn't very fast, you might not need the counter interface. X0-X1 can be configured as HSC inputs up to 5kh.

True, but the CTRIO does the scaling right in the card setup...pretty slick IMHO.
