Hello, I have a DL05 and a F0-2D2DA-2 (analog 2in-2out) When I plug in the card I loose communication with the PLC, I have no wire terminated on the card (I tried it both ways with and without) Is there something I am missing?? I have the jumpers set to 5V in and 10V out, but as I said even with no wires or 24vdc I can not see the PLC I have to remove the card and cycle power then it starts working again... just with out the card?? I have look for anything strange (ie. pins bent, wires crossed) also tried it on several 05's they are all new and the same on them all and the card is new. Thanks Mark

You CANNOT hot swap the analog module. If you are not doing this, make sure your program is saved to disk. In DS go to PLC, clear PLC Memory, select all. Put END statement at top of program. Download this program to PLC, put PLC in RUN mode.

REMOVE suspect module, please Clear PLC Memory select ALL. Then Power cycle. Enter an "End " statement at the top, set the PLC in the "Run " mode. Power down, remove the Comm cable, insert the suspect module, power back up. Observe the LED's on the DL05, DO NOT install COMM cable, please let me know the LED states.

    Thanks for your reply

    Just as you said...

Power up with no card, power light and after 10ish seconds, the PLC goes into Run

Power down installed card, turned power on...power light then nothing else, no run

This was done with no com cable

    Thanks

Yes I did just as you asked...

And after the reinstall the only led on is the 'power led ', before I reinstalled it the power/run/ were on and the TX1 and RX1 were flashing

But with the analog card installed only the power light is on.

    Thanks

    Mark

EDIT: And this time I printed the procedure and went step by step, I think its shorted

    Mark,

Please call AutomationDirect to obtain an RMA. And print this chat and enclose with the module. I would like to see this module when AutomationDirect returns it to us.

    Thanks
