We 've shipped hundreds of machines globally with DL06's on them. We have had an unacceptable amount of these in the field have strange problems such as scrambled memory, or even corrupt programs. They have all required an expensive service trip and a PLC re-load. These same machines with other brand PLC's have not had problems such as these. Also, we have have not had these problems with the bigger D2-250's on our machines at all. Are DL06's more susceptible to noise or power surges than other models and brands? Do their power supplies require extra line filtering, while other models do not? Yes, the machines are well, grounded, etc. My service dept. is at wits end with this.

That would make two of us. We have the issue of programs getting corrupted during repeated power outages etc. I could not find any other method to solve the problem other than to get a 24vdc or 120vac Din rail mounted ups for the plc and associated sensors. I then tied its dc or ac ok check to an input so the program could be aware of power conditions. This solved our problem with a little extra cost but it worked.
Dl06 v2.2 firmware. Programed with DirectSoft 5.2.

Try the latest DL06 firmware it is supposed to address this very problem... to date I 've not lost a program running with the latest firmware.
As a side note I'm glad I'm not quite the minority I thought I was with this problem.
-EDIT- I 've had the same problem with the 250 and 250-1 CPUs, but not to the same degree.

Hmm, the release notes don't mention anything about this being fixed.
Would this version be V2.3 that you are referring to?

Dave,
What is the type and configuration PLC? On the label is some information datecode, etc. I/O modules? And any other info you can provide.

D0-06DD1 Plc.
Usually just 1 expansion module in slot 1, a F0-2AD2DA-2 analog module, although one of our machine types has no expansion i/o.
Running on 120vac secondary of control transformer that supplies only a 24vdc power supply (Automation Direct PS24-050D ).
Always have a DV1000 HMI.
Some machines have DC drives, some have none.
Can't tell you firmware versions, but this has been going on for a year or two so it is cross-firmware versions for sure.
I'll check with our service dept. to see if they have any returned h/w that I can get serial/version info from.
I'd be glad to supply any more info to solve this!
