Hello, I put together a dl205 rack with a DL240 cpu Slot 0: 8-ch analog in (current) Slo1 1: 32 DI, Slot 2, 32 DO I wired up the D2-32ND3 cards with Ziplink cable and Ziplink module (ZL-CM40) I have a simple level switch, I wire it in (A0 - Switch - 24v+, 24v- - Com 1 (both Com 1) When I toggle the switch in run mode with data view and ladder watch on, I see no changes! I have worked with DL06's before and never had this problem. Is this a source/sink issue? Do I have the wrong wiring? I am referencing the DL205 user manual Rev A 8/03 section 2-31 I can get my outputs to fire no problem... any help appreciated!

What firmware version is in your DL240 CPU?
The latest is V. 3.3 .
Is the level switch just a contact? If so you cannot switch 24V directly into the analog channel input, this will destroy the input. You will need approx. 950 ohms in series to generate 20mA from 24V source.

Firmware is 3.3
I am trying to get my DI to respond, not the AI.
I put X0 in Directsoft and it's state does not change. On the DL06 at least I had indicator lights, but on the 205 I don't.
I wired the ziplink terminal block according to the instruction diagram. I have 24v going through the switch, verified with multimeter, and no response on the PLC/DirectSoft.
Any ideas? Thanks

A F2-08AD-1 or F2-08AD-2 will occupy 16 X's so the first input reference on your 32 point DI will be X20.

Wow, simple and effective! Don't know where I missed that in the manual, but thanks!
Is this the only module with a starting address that's not zero?
Thanks again!!!!!

After further study, I see that prior slots will affect the starting address.
Since My DO is the first output card, does this mean it's first address is Y0? and if I had a second DO, it's first Y address is octally, one in addition to the prior card's limit (ie Y33)?
Thanks

The starting address for a module will depend on the I/O configuration. See page 4-2 to 4-6 of the D2-USER-M: http://www.automationdirect.com/static/manuals/d2user/ch4.pdf
Your 32 DO will start at Y0 since there is not another output module in front of it.
