i 've run into a problem with an 05 using a Ecom 100 and a static discharge. I not sure where the charge is coming from, but i do know that it has done in a switch, one ecom card, and now it seems an 05. is there an easy way to ground cat 5e cable to prevent these discharges?

You can purchase shielded CAT-5e and connectors from companies like L-Com.

I 've made extensive use of shielded CAT5 and connectors and not had much luck preventing this... I 've had more trouble with the H2-ECOM100 (for 205's). I think Host is working on this.
