I have BRICK installed on my computer and I can't find a way to add my copy of DS205. I have the latest ServicePack installed. Is there a procedure for adding licenses to a current installation of DSLaunch? Thanks gtj

I assume both are Rel 4. If that is true, just install them to the same directory - the "support levels " will merge.
If one is Rel 3 (or earlier) and one is Rel 4 - you must purchase the upgrade. Install Rel 3, then install the upgrade package, then install the Rel 4 package. Again, this should merge the two.

I think I misunderstood your question. You have 2 different version of DirectSoft (I'm guessing Rel 3 and Rel 4), but would like both entries to show up in DSLaunch.
The problem here is that architecturally you cannot run DSLaunch Rel 4 with DirectSoft Rel 3 (or vice versa). The two are 99% compatible, but it's that 1% that can mess it up. Also, there is no way to have one .PRJ be associated with Rel 3 and another .PRJ be associated with Rel 4 from DSLaunch.
If you must purchase pieces parts you must run them totally separate - DSLaunch/DS Programming/DSData Rel 4 EXCLUSIVELY or DSLaunch/DS Programming/DSData Rel 3 EXCLUSIVELY. Different releases were never meant to be ran at the same time. Two or more versions can be INSTALLED on the same PC at the same time, BUT two or more versions CANNOT be running at the same time.
The matrix of possibilities is pretty crazy (for example, Rel 1 205 package with Rel 2 DS-DDE with Rel 3 405 with Rel 4 06 and DS-Data). Word to the wise - if you think you will EVER want to program more than 1 CPU type, just buy the full package ($495). Only buy the individual packages "if you know that you know that you know " you will NEVER program another CPU type.

The two licenses that I have are a 205 R4.16 and a Brick R4.18. I have the Brick installed on my main development machine. I had a job come up for a 205 and I want to add the 205 license to my DSLaunch. So far just installing to the same directory does not add the 205 to the support list. I have upgraded the Brick to R4.25. Should I install the upgrade using my 205 license key code?
Thanks

Since both are Rel 4 - it should just work.
If you install one, then install the other in the same directory, there should just be ONE executable, and it should support 05, 06, 105, and 205.
I would uninstall and reinstall both to the same directory.
What do you mean by "support list " in DSLaunch. DSLaunch itself does not support any specific CPU - it's DirectSoft that has support for various CPUs.
Are you expecting two programs to be listed under the Applications group? If that's the issue, just one DSP is the normal case, "DirectSoft32 Programming 4 " and when you launch DirectSoft and do Help->About, the "Support installed for " should list 05, 06, 105, and 205.

Got it Working. Here is what I foung out.
My copy of Brick was a Build 18 CD and that had been used to install DirectSoft32 on the computer. When I went to install the DS205 I had used the CD that I had gotten when I bought that license, which was a Build 16. It would seem to install OK but Programming Support for the 205 would not be added. By the way, I was refering to the "Additional Info: " window in DSLaunch. I had upgraded to Build 25 when I next tried to install the 205 license using the Build 18 CD. At this point support for the 205 was added to DSLaunch, but it dropped back to Build 18. I then reinstalled the upgrade and everything is working fine.
Thanks for the help and Merry Christmas.

Great! Thanks for the clarification, too.
All future maintenance releases will upgrade everything to that Rel 4 build.
I'm glad it worked out - it should have been simpler, but like I mentioned - all these various packages creates endless possibilities with various installs, upgrades, and manitenance releases http://forum1.automationdirect.com/board/confused.gif

What happens if you have the 205 Only version in Rel 2, the 305 Only version in Rel 3, and the Brick version in Rel 4?
Answer: A mess!
If this is you (or even if this isn't you), if you upgrade ANY Version of ANY DirectSOFT package, for just $179 (for a limited time) " you will have THE FULL VERSION of Rel 5. Every DL PLC programmable using the latest version of DirectSOFT (for a list of some of the cool features, go to http://web4.automationdirect.com/adc/Overview/Catalog/Software_Prod ucts/Directsoft_PLC_Programming_Software
