DL06 port 2 and USB to serial adapter

What is involved in using port 2 of DL06 with a USB to serial adapter. Would you use the pinout shown in manual 9pin(PC) to 15pin(DL06). Port 1 which is fixed at 9600 baud, is too slow for me when watching the status of the program in realtime. It sometimes just stalls.

    Could drop an ethernet card in the 06 and with a cross patch cable watch it almost in real time.
