Can anyone please email me an example of how to use the instruction SR "Shift Register? The 205 Manual is not very much help, I'm using the 250 and 260 CPU's. Any helpful documentation will be highly appreciated, White Papers, Tutorial, WebPage, anything on how to use the Shift Register. I have an 8 Stations Index Table and I need to Reject parts in Station 7 accoding to the Inspection outcome in Station 5. Thanks All anibal@telemetrika.com

    piscis,

Here is an application that utilized the shift register instruction. A bottle-filling and capping machine continuously ejected bottles to a conveyor. A sensor detected if the cap was on correctly. The sensor output was the data input to the shift register. A photo eye detected the presence of the bottle The photo eye output was the clock input to the shift register. There was a reject arm that would reject a miscapped bottle. The reject arm was located at a given number of "bottle positions " (clock pulses) downstream from the sensor location. When the corresponding shift register relay turned on, it indicated that a faulty bottle was at the reject station, and the shift register relay energized an output to reject the bottle. Perhaps this instruction may be used for your index table.
