Having only worked with the 250 and 260 I 've got a quick question to answer a theoretical that came up this morning. Can I get 5 DL06 PLCs to communicate via the built in PORT1? I need to have PORT 2 free on each one for ASCII communications. Thanks

Port 1 of the DL06 has some limitations, but multiple PLC's could talk through it. Port 1 is RS232 only, which I believe does not allow more than two devices to communicate like 485 does. However, if you had some sort of hub PLC or PC, you could use RS232, DirectNET, or MODBUS with your 5 PLC's as slaves to the one master, exchanging data through it.
Another possibility is to add an expansion card to the DL06's to let them communicate. There are DeviceNET cards available, and AD is working on an Ethernet card for the DL06 too.
Hope this helps.

I believe port 1 is fixed at slave address 1, hence it cannot be used in a multi-slave network - point-to-point only.
However, the H0-ECOM will make you be able to network your 06s together with 205 and 405 systems using standard Ethernet cables and hubs, which allows both peer-to-peer and mutiple master/slaves on the same network!
