here the beef. I have a (EDM)that will not stop when reaches it's set point. so i went to hook up a plc. with tranducer to shut it off at a set pos. (so i can have a life)does any konw what kind of tranducer i need. i'd like to use the DirectLogic 205 with the H2-CTRIO any help would be great thanks

We have used quadrature incremental rotary encoders for machine position for years using a DL205 with the D2-CTRINT and now with the H2-CTRIO. We used Dynapar encoders and now we are getting the encoders from Automationdirect. These encoders are incremental so you must have a means to reset counter to actual machine position. Also, check out the absolute encoders in the Automationdirect catalog.

i found a liner tranducer but now my trouble
is i have 6 " of travel and need to keep it within .0001 ". but now a need a plc. that will work in that range. i could use the A/B
but it wil cost me $1500.00 thats a bit high for me. any one have any idea?
