I am a great fan of Directsoft but the time it takes to save a project to a floppy is a real bore. Is there a better way that I am unaware of?

Do you have Rel 4? You may want to try setting your backup folder to your floppy drive? If that's no faster, use Windows Explorer to copy the files. When you do "Save As " it is actually writing the data files a record at a time, then re-reading the data. Hence saving to the hard drive first, shutting down, then copying the files, may be faster!

I give each project its own seperate folder based on this format; C:\Projects\PLC(i.e., 105, 205..)\year\job

Then when I want to copy a job, I just grab the folder and copy it. This also helps me keep all the different jobs sorted out.

Thanks guys. I was aware of the alternatives (save & copy)but I wish the "save as " would work this way. It's like my wife's cooking....I'll learn to live with it!
