Direct Soft 4 with XP

Anyone trying to use Directsoft with XP who has problems like DSLaunch not remembering projects that have been opened needs to change the security property on the DS400.ini file in the windows directory to allow full access to everyone including the system. XP limits access to the windows directory and the files located in it so DSLaunch cannot write updates to the file. Mike

Was this XP Home or XP Pro? If it was XP Pro, you need to install DirectSoft as the Administrator (or user w/Administrator privileges).
I have not heard of this problem because you can't even install it without Administrator privileges on XP Pro (I think).
Another issue may be the privileges of the logged in user account when it is being used??? Be sure that user has rights to write to the Windows directory.
If you are not using a multi-user machine, you may just want to uninstall then reinstall it logged in as Admin - it should just work.
