I have a Productivity 3000 communicating via Ethernet IP with an AB Micrologix 1400. Sometimes. The P3K is set up as an adapter with input and outputs enabled, the 1400 is using multi hop messages to transfer data. I can set it up, the comms will work perfectly for a few days or hours, then stop. I get no errors anywhere. The status bits in the message instructions in the 1400 sit at "awaiting execution ". I know there is not an Ethernet problem because I can view the 1400 remotely through the same ethernet switch that the comms are traveling through. Wondering if anybody smarter than me has any ideas or more experience in this. Thanks

What series is the ML1400? If it is a series B, you could enable Modbus TCP on its Ethernet port and then set up some data files as the Modbus tables and use Modbus messaging to send data to and from the P3K. This would mean completely changing your existing scheme.

What do you mean by 'multi hop ' messages? I have done Explicit Messaging from the ML1400 reliably to the Productivity Series PLCs. Wireshark captures can help immensely in this situation also.
