I am using the D/S 100 version. I tried to connect it to a DL05 using a USB-Serial adapter. When I try the connection link it only shows comm 1-4 available. My laptop shows comm 7 - 10 available on the USB ports. If I go to the PLC Tab, the "connect " is highlighted but the "Link Setup " is grayed out.

I am not at a computer right now, so l can't give detailed instructions.

You are going to have to edit the .ini file for DS, to enable the other com ports.

You can do a more specific search here, or at hosteng.com to find the details of doing this.

If you can't get DirectSoft to use anything other than COM1 - COM4, sou can use Device Manager to force the USB/serial adapter to use a specific COM port within that range. I have my Staples adapter set up to always use COM3.
