I need to link a D260 using Modbus TCP/IP to a Honeywell DCS. First I have a system using a D260 CPU with an H2-Ecom100. This is already setup to talk to 4 ABB Drives using Modbus TCP/IP locally in my panel. What I need to establish now is to link this panel to another system using a Honeywell DCS that also can talk Modbus TCP/IP. The end result I need to establish, is that my PLC needs to control and monitor I/O in this DCS so that my PLC can control these I/O points. I can probably can accomplish the end result I require using OPC where on the PC that is linked to the DCS, we can install Kepserver software and the DCS poll certain assigned Tags that I set in my PLC to control the I/O points. I am pretty sure this can be accomplished but I would like to know if I could accomplish the same result using the Modbud TCP/IP network. What we were thinking is that if I can setup some dedicated memory locations in the PLC where the DCS can monitor thorough the Modbus network. Can anybody confirm if this can be accomplished the way I would like?

    Number of devices

In my system, I have 4 drives and one PC with OPC to the PLC for HMI. The Honeywell DCS will be the last link to the network using Modbus TCP/IP. Franji1do you think I would have an issue? By the way thank you for your response!

    modbus question

    Fanji,

Thank you for your help. I am actually vacationing but all my preliminary testing at the present time works as expected. Early March will be the final implementation but I do not expect any problems. Again thank you for your quick response!
