I am using a D0-06 PLC and modbus RTU to communicate with a Solo temp controller. I have a DO DCM com port in slot 1 of the PLC. I have the PLC communicating with the temp controller and need to add another device to my network. The new device will only use ASCII. Can someone tell me what I need to change to change my network over to ASCII? I believe I need to change the data bits from eight to seven, one start bit, and one stop bit. I also believe that I need to send only one number per word. In other words I need to send a 31 in my first word and 30 in my second word to send a 10. I am not sure how many the words I need to send to fill the register in the temp controller. I am using the MWX instruction in the PLC to write the data. Any help would be appreciated.

I believe that the DL06 is capable of Modbus RTU only, not ASCII.
