I downloaded the DEMO version of Dataworx and while trying to set it up initially with a DL06 and ECOM100 I get the following error when I press the Pending Diagnostics button: "ICS FAILURE! Subscript out of range " I'm at a loss as to what this means or what to do to fix it. I 've been through the setup and troubleshooting sections of the manual and they offer no information on this error. Any help would be appreciated. -Gene

I found the problem. Dataworx does not appear to be Windows7 compatible. It is working fine in WinXP.

Good to know!:)
If we ever get around to upgrading computers aroud here, we'll have to leave that Dataworks computer alone. Of course, there may be an upgrade to Dataworks by then.

I'm getting the same error with Windows 7. Brand new computer bought to act as the Data Worx server. It let me register it, would be nice if they tell you somewhere. I don't suppose there is any fix other than somehow getting windows XP?? uuughh. Really frustrating. Thousands invested in this stupid thing now.
Any ideas would be appreciated...

Have you tried right clicking the icon and telling it to run in Windows XP mode?

Per our documentation Dataworx PLC is Windows 7 compatible:
Operating System Compatibility
(If Windows 7 PC, it must be Windows 7 (Home, Premium, Ultimate 32 or 64 bit))
Windows 7 - 64 bit
Windows 7 - 32 bit
Windows Vista - 64 bit
Windows Vista - 32 bit
Windows XP
Windows 2000
Hardware Requirements
Processor: Pentium II
Memory: 128 MB
HD Space: 10 MB Free Space
Video: None specified
Other: None specified
I will research with the vendor and find out the probable cause of your ICS error.

It's entirely possible that I'm missing something. I was figuring I'd get it working one step at a time, and I'm hung up pretty good at the ladder logic wx/rx commands. The manual claims that DataWorx PLC comes with a sample direct soft project. I'm not finding it on the disk, nor anything related in ADC's sample projects. Anyone have any sample logic they could share?
I can find my way around the PLC pretty decent, but this manual seems pretty sparse compared to other ADC products. I'm not able to make any sense out of the commands and their screenshots.
Thanks

I didn't trust the auto-configure, but just verified that all the parameters listed in the auto-configure page are in the PLC v memory.
Both devices are on the same network / subnet / VLAN, and a trace route shows nothing between the two. Auto-configure did indeed work, and direct soft and C-more work great over the same network.
Still getting the ICS subscript error. Cranked my network timeouts way up too..

Also my start/stop/pause/uninstall buttons on the server don't seem to function, I can only start and pause from the monitor..
And when I hide the server I get a run-time error '35600 ' Index out of bounds.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Spent all night on it and now it's working fine. I think it was my WX instruction in the PLC, but I'm not certain as it all seemed correct.
Now my ASCII text logged from the PLC has that inverted/flipped thing going on. On to another thread..

Datawrox does work well on Windows 7, but you need to turn off UAC please see the following for instructions: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Turn-User-Account-Control-on-or-off
Also the version 2.2 build 99 resolves the issue that is seen on some PCs when running the Pending Diagnostics. And to clarify the Pending Diagnostics is only a tool to check your configuration. It is not required to make the system work. In most cases the issue is there is a firewall that needs to have an exception for Dataworx or just turn it off.
