I combed the forum and found that by editing the DS500.ini file as follows, I should be able to use COM 4. However, when I do, I am still left with the default selections (COM 1 and COM2) when I attempt to add a link. The OS in question is Windows 7. Any ideas? I appreciate any comments or suggestions that you can provide. ;Dump=1 COM1Enable=0 COM2Enable=1 COM3Enable=0 COM4Enable=1 COM5Enable=1 Thanks

This may be a funky Windows 7 thing as I just tried it on a Vista machine and it works just fine.

Check out this FAQ. I would try the XP procedure first, and if that doesn't fix it, try the Vista procedure next.

Thanks Franji1. The Vista fix worked just fine under Windows 7 as the actual .ini used by Dsoft was indeed located in the "Virtual Store " location described in your link.
