I have a system that we have had working for years. It started with all GE PLC's but over the years we have replaced all of them with various AD PLC's(05,06,205,405) except for the master and it is still a GE 90-30 using CCM (Same as direct net) protocol. We have had no problems with the system. Also this is a large system and we are actually using 2 different radio systems controlled by 1 GE CPU. One of the radio systems is an old 450 mhz licensed MDS, and the other is a Freewave 900 mhz unlicensed. We have now decided to uprgrade the GE master and I am using a 205 with a 260 cpu with an additional DCM module. We replaced the old 450 system with new Aerocomm 900 mhz radios and it works great. However when I moved the Freewave system over to the 205 master i had little success. It works but has about a 50% error rate. It was hitting about 99.9 % on the GE Master. I fought the problem all day today and still have not been able to make it work right. I moved it back to the GE for tonight and will tackle the problem again tomorrow. Guess I will call Freewave and AD Tech support tomorrow and see if they have any ideas. Anyone else out there using Freewave radio's and have any ideas? Thanks Roy

I would assume that you had to change the cable when you switched PLC's. If so, it may be a radiated noise issue. Make sure that the cable is shielded and that the shield is grounded on one end only.
Also you might need to tweak the RTS ON & RTS OFF delays to allow for proper squelch on the signal.

Problem with 260 CPU and Freewave Radios- Resolved!
By calling FreeWave tech support to work through the issue it was determined that there was a mis-matched baud rate. Once the baud rate was corrected, the problem was resolved.
