The most common problem when you encounter strange behavior like this is your PC has multiple NICs (usually a wireless & a wired). By default most laptops prioritize the wireless as highest. So, the first thing to try is to reprioritize the wired NIC to the top.
To reprioritize:
(1) Start --> Control Panel.
(2) Double-click on the "Network Connections " icon.
(3) On the menu at the top, select Advanced --> Advanced Settings...
(4) On the "Adapters and Bindings " tab, in the top window, select the connection you are using.
(5) Use the green arrows at the right to move this connection to the top of the list.
(6) Press and close Network Connections window.
(7) You may have to reboot your PC.
To do this is a bit different in Vista.
If that doesn't work, try totally disabling the wireless NIC and reboot.
If that doesn't work, you might try:
(1) Start ERM Workbench.
(2) Press Select Slaves button.
(3) Change the "PC Network Slaves on: " protocol from IPX to UDP/IP or vise versa.
Hope that helps! Merry Christmas!

Yay Greg!
Yay Greg!
I disabled all connections except the nic in my laptop and switched to UDP/IP and it worked!
PS: Im running all the software on a Intel Apple laptop, glad that was not the problem!
Happy Holidays!!
