Web server in a PLC?

I notice that some Allen-Bradley PLCs have a web server build-in so you can view stats on the PLC but does AutomationDirect have anything like that at all? It would be really cool if there was some kind of module so I can look at the stats of a PLC. I know I can use DirectSoft with an ecom module but it's really cumbersome loading DirectSoft if I just want to look at some data. Plus in the shop there are several computers and some of them don't have directsoft so sometimes I have to walk all over the plant just to see what the belt speed is. Does automationdirect have anything like this planned in the future?

I think it would be great. I had looked at these low cost internet appliances (http://www.netburner.com/products/software.htm) to create a box that would be configurable over the network to poll the data from the serial port using directnet or modbus protocols and then post the data on a dynamic HTML page.

AutomationDirect does not have definite plans for that functionality but we do have a product that allows you to web-enable your PLC. This product is DataNet OPC and you check out www.bizwaredirect.com/datanet_opc.htm for more information.

What's especially neat about the product is that there is no programming and you can configure the web page within the web page so you can make changes to the web page anywhere instead of loading 3rd party software on each machine.

If you have any questions let me know.
