Newbie ethernet guy here! In our plant we have a wireless network. I have several automation direct PLC's thoughout. Is there a magic device that I can connect to any AD ethernet card that will let me transfer to the network for data logging and such. I don't want to have to string cable all around. Any further info would be great. Thank you so much.

We used the WET11 from Linksys for exactly this.

The WET11 works great in my tests, but be ware of the LinkSYS access points (WAP11 and WAP54)... They tend to lock up after a few hours of constant data traffic, not high network load, just constant network load.

I would like to say that it was constant data but after 18 months of using them, what we have found appears to be heavy data traffic through the AP can cause it to stop responding with certain addresses and the only way to clear it is to power cycle the AP. We are trying a new version of the WEP-11 that is 12 VDC powered and have not seen this reoccur but time will tell.
