I am using dl405 to control F4-16DA2 modules through ERM, and I noticed it took about half second to update 16 channels. But when I checked the scan time, it is about 20ms, and I also knew the ERM on average updates all I/O every FOUR PLC scans. So this makes 80 ms. Then I don't understand why I have such a long respons time. Anyone who has the same experience or knows the answer please help me. Thanks.

Run ERM Workbench and see if there are any errors. The latest version (Rel 1.1) supports better error reporting. It is available for free from Host Engineering's website at http://www.hosteng.com/HW-Products/ERM/ERM_Workbench_Rel11.Zip .

Do File->Read From ERM to connect to your existing ERM module. If any slaves are having a problem, the slave number will be in yellow or red. To see the detailed error list, click on the slave number that is in error, then click on the button Slave X's Error List. This will show you that slave's Extended Errors dialog. To decode the error codes, click on the Error List button at the bottom of the Slave Extended Errors dialog box.

You can get the ERM's I/O update cycle in ERM Workbench by hitting the button. This will bring up the Detailed ERM Statistics dialog box. The Min/Max/Average I/O cycle times are listed there. You may need to hit the button since the accumulator for the AVG only works for a few days.

You could have something wrong with your configuration. Please e-mail your erm configuration file to support@hosteng.com, maybe we can figure it out. To create this file, connect to the ERM as above, then do File->Save As, then ZIP up the file and send it to support@hosteng.com.
