Hi. Reacently purchased the SOLO PID, wanting to configure it from pc. Im new to this programming stuff, but got myself the slsoft free program for download. also got this converter: RS-485 to USB http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-RS-485-Converter-Adapter-RS485-New-17-/170641043403?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0 &hash=item27baffafcb Then connected the + and - from the PID to the R+ and R- on the converter. the software says "lost communication " I think both PID, software and converter-driver is set to 9600 even length: 7 stop:1 ASCII What am I missing?

I don't see any switches on the convertor to select RS422/RS485. Lacking that connect T+ and R+ on the convertor together with a jumper. Also connect T- and R- together with another jumper. then connect T+ from the convertor to + on the Solo. Connect T- on the convertor to - on the Solo. (Similar to the jumpers shown in figure 2 on page 7-7 of the Solo manual.)

Reacently purchased the SOLO PID, wanting to configure it from pc. Im new to this programming stuff, but got myself the slsoft free program for download.

http://cgi.ebay.com/USB-RS-485-Converter-Adapter-RS485-New-17-/170641043403?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27baffafcb
Then connected the + and - from the PID to the R+ and R- on the converter.
the software says "lost communication "
I think both PID, software and converter-driver is set to
