Hi Everyone, Is there a low(er) cost PLC CPU or module that is able to run C or C++ code on it's own? My application requires some code to be run that cannot be done in ladder logic or structured text. It only requires about 50-100MB of memory to run though (if that). I know there is a module available from Mitsubishi that is capable of it, but I would like to avoid spending several thousand dollars on it since that kind of throughput isn't currently necessary for the application. The current plan is for the vision system to send data to the PLC for processing either over ethernet or RS-232 since the data is not large, then have it be processed by the PLC and the rest of the PLC program run based on the C code processing. I realize this could be done by a microcontroller or SCADA, but I'm trying to remove that from the system. Is something like this available? Thanks!
