I have a quick question that I wanted to get clarification on. I intend on controlling two GS2 drives via RS485 modbus and I was wondering if I will be able to use the analog input on the GS2 drive as an input for a sensor (i.e. a 0-10v pressure sensor) that could then be read on the PLC via modbus. I only need two analog inputs (which will be unused on the two GS2 drives) and this would save me the cost of having to buy an analog input module. Based on the manual it did not appear that there was a memory address in the drive for reading the analog input, but I figured I would ask on the forum.

My thinking is that you could not use the analog input in that way, as it is for speed control only.

A quick browse of P4.00 leads me to this conclusion, too.

I did not see a way to tie the AI signal to a Modbus register.

I looked at this this morning. I did not see a clean way to do this either.

It might be possible to set the analog input to PID feedback which should be something you can read via Modbus, perhaps using the block transfer.

Using the PID feedback requires you to set the speed input to either the dial pot or the keypad up and down buttons.

Not sure if that will work in this application.

Looks like OP might have to buy the card.

maybe using pid mode and force manual mode of PID?
