I'm trying to pin down the major difference between the two drive types. they are both Volts/Hertz Type drives but the GS3 is 55$ more for a 1HP drive? the only major difference i can see is the the option to add an encoder. is that all? and it even looks like the GS3 doesn't have a variable carrier frequency on all models. I'm confused...

The GS3 is a sensorless vector drive and the keypad is much more advanced.

    The GS2 is Volts/Hertz only.
