I have a 110v (1/4hp) motor that I need to turn on for 5 seconds, then off and repeat the cycle while my main machine is running. This is for a wire agitator for a powder feeder. Would the Koyo Timer/Relay do the job ok? Will it turn the motor on when it gets a signal to the input when my machine is on like I'm wanting it to, or is this more difficult? TIA, Nate

There's an application note here showing how to use two timers to create what you need. One timer adjusts the ON time, the other timer adjusts the OFF time. Pretty simple and all hardware based. Are you turning the motor on every 5 seconds or is it on for 5 seconds every couple of minutes? Seem like alot of starting/stopping which that motor might not like.

We have intended on making the motor come on for 5 seconds and off for 5 seconds while the mixer was running. But if we are just wanting to agitate the powder hopper so it will feed we wouldn't have to do it so often. The machine only runs for about 1-5 minutes at a time. So we could have it agitate for 5 seconds everytime the mixer comes on.
There are better powder feeders out these days, we are just trying to use what we have so we don't have any downtime.
I will give the dual timer setup a try and see what happens.
Thanks!

natemclain,
Here is a qoute from the PDF OpZed listed
Application description: A customer wants to create an adjustable flicker mode type control with one of our Fuji timers. The Fuji timers have a built in flicker mode control, however, the off duration can not be changed to a different period compared to the on delay.
So you can use one timer if the time periods are the same (on and off)
