GS2 Modbus fault reset

Could you please explain the nature of the GS2 parameters 9.29 and 9.30? I have been successful in writing to the drive parameters 9.26 thru 9.28 over Modbus, which gives me run/stop, direction and speed control. But I cant seem to do the same with the external fault / fault reset registers. I have the correct addresses (42335d and 42334d). Are these registers read only?
