I have always connected to my ethernet click PLC using a PC which has an ethernet port with no problem. Recently I have tried to connect using a PC that does not have an ethernet port so I'm going through a USB to ethernet adaptor. When I attempt to connect to the PLC I can see the PLC name, IP address and run status normally but when attempting to connect it gives error code PTC-001 cannot access the comm port on the PLC. I am able to ping the PLC and get a response. My feeling is that its something to do with security settings but I wanted to check if anyone else has experienced this and knows a fix for it. Thanks, Nick

what windows version? if win 10 check firewall settings(3 network types), turn all off and try, if worked then turn on one by one, make change for that application on same screen by clicking allow app through firewall. I had to make chg oddly enough to public network setting to allow App to work for usb to communicate to CMORE
