Simulate CLICK programming without hardware present

Is there a way to run the CLICK Programming Software in simulator mode to test programming? I have not ordered the PLC yet, but wanted to start messing with some programs, samples, etc. I see that there is a way to set states in DataView1, but not sure how to get the program to simulate operation.

There is no simulator for the CLICK. Do-More has an included simulator (full featured soft plc actually)

For a simple controller like say automating couple of pool valves, timers, and a temperature sensor or two, I know CLICK is more then enough.

With that in mind, and understanding that I 've never used or have yet to purchase any equipment, should I look into a PLC like Do-More, or just stick with CLICK.

I don't need stepper motors, analog processing or anything high speed. My needs are limited to something along the lines of sprinkler controller or HVAC zone controller.

I may be overthinking the need for software simulator before I purchase (and/or have access to actual PLC).

In all my other interactions with different types of controllers, there was always a software test environment (simulator) where programs could be tested, debugged, etc. without risking damage to equipment the controller would eventually be connected to.

What do you require to be accomplished -vs- How much do you want to spend? (bang vs buck)

    Assuming 24VDC inputs / relay outputs and 2 analog inputs/outputs :

Click at $139. You can use any 24VDC power supply - with acceptable current capability

DoMore CPU is $299 No Power Supply, Chassis, or I/O cards.

    Mario,

I have been programming PLC's since 1987. Sometimes, the customer would dictate what PLC I had to use when PLC's were still new; Modicon, Westinghouse, Omron, Square-D, GE Series One, TI 405, Cutler-Hammer D100, Allen-Bradley SLC 100/150, etc. so, I have plenty of experience of using an "unknown " controller. What I would suggest, so you don't worry of damage to any equipment, is to go ahead and purchase the CLICK PLC for your application, connect your inputs, but don't connect any output, so you won't damage any output device if your code does not work as expected.

I would get a click and set it up on a bench to practice/test. You can wire switches to the inputs to simulate your real inputs. At

Thanks all, I'll do as suggested and play with CLICK sans outputs.
