Click output trouble.

With my Click inputs wired in and only power to my output terminal strip, my #1 output has constant power. Power is connected to +V and C1. Am I missing something or do I have a defective Click. Don't think I want to open it up just yet. If I use it in a circuit, same thing. Thanks for any help.

Please open the manual for your PLC.

Go to the page showing YOUR PARTICULAR model. If it's the same as your previous posts it was C0-00DD1-D. In my copy of the manual it is pages 2-25 and 2-26. Look at the output section.

+24VDC must be connected to +V. The minus (or common) side of this supply (and of any non-24VDC output power supplies) must be connected to to C3 and C4.

Any load must be connected between the output (Y1 - Y6) and the + side of the particular output power supply.

The 24VDC connected between +V and C3/C4 provides power for the internal output circuitry to work. When an output turns on it switches the low side of the load. The other side of a load is connected to the + side of an output power supply.

You did not indicate that you had C3/C4 connected properly. Without the common connection the internal output circuitry is only connected to +24vdc. That is the only voltage then it can pass to the pin. Hook up your output section correctly including the load then test.

Note, as long as the power supply has sufficient capability and you are not driving any large loads the 24VDC used for the output section can be the same as that powering the PLC itself and the input circuitry. But consider a separate power supply when you begin to drive outputs nearer to the full capability of the outputs.

Note that, since you have a 'sinking ' output type unit, when measuring the output voltage from the minus side of the power supply you will measure the + value of the particular output power supply when the output is OFF. You will measure near zero when the output is turned ON.

    Leo,

One more thing, check the program in the PLC and make sure that output is not ON. Now, if the PLC is off and you still have voltage to that output then follow Bernie's instructions.

Been busy haven't played with the Click today. Thanks for the tips.

I screwed up in my original post. I have power to +V and C3. Not C1 for this problem.

This is when I have power to O1 whether in the program or not.

READ THE MANUAL AND FOLLOW IT! You should place the low side of the power supply to C3. Check the illustrations carefully! Make sure you have the load connected properly, measured voltages will not be meaningful without the proper load. Pay attention to the last paragraph of my previous post - this is an NPN type output.
