In working on my project, I am adding/changing the modbus register mappings. Many of the modbus addresses that I am assigning I am mapping to elements in structures. In the tag database viewer, when I sort by modbus starting address, the registers assigned to structure elements do not show up. This is a huge pain as I have to go through each structure to look for the old addresses to change to new. Also, a modbus assigner window would be nice. I like being able to assign right from the tag database viewer, but it would be nice to have a window with two columns. Left column is type ahead picker for the variable, right column address to assign. You could then add all of your variables on the left and auto assign in a row. It would be nice if the auto assign feature could then ask for wanted type (ie, input (30000) or holding (40000)).

Bump for this. Does anyone know a good way to find the registers assigned in a structure?

Currently there is not method of either searching or sorting of structure Modbus addresses. We think this is a great idea, therefore I sent this to our software developers to begin looking into a better way of handling this in the tag database. Thanks for your feedback and inputs.

Hi, I'm wondering if all these years later this feature was ever implemented? I'm running into the same issue the original poster was a decade ago (!), where I'm exposing elements of user defined structures over Modbus, but there's no good way to see all the used Modbus addresses other than by manipulating the exported tag list in Excel. Thanks.
