I am looking into using a Productivity 2000 PLC for a new project that will require data logging. The data will need to be collected offsite and I am trying to find out if a data log file on the SD card can be attached to an email and sent using the Send Email "EMAL " Instruction. I would like to have a daily or weekly log file and send it out at the end of the day/week. Is this possible or is there a better way of accomplishing the same task?

Currently the EMAL instruction does not support attachments. The only method for gaining access to the data log files is via remote access using the web server.

Would this be true for other AD platforms as well (Do-More, Click)? I found the Dataworx software which would do what I am looking for, but my client is not wanting extra software. The request is for the PLC to be able to push the data out instead of a typical set up where the SCADA/Data software would pull the data periodically through something like an OPC Server.

Not sure about DoMore. I sent an email over to the Product Engineer in charge of that product. Click does not support Email or Data logging.

At the moment Do-more does not support native logging, so no. At some point in the future Do-more might have this capability.
Right now we don't have any product capable of emailing logging files.

Ok, thanks! I guess my other option with the email function on the P2K platform may be to write the data to a series of registers and have those registers and/or bits placed into the email (generally speaking). It would be a little cumbersome, but could be done. This application will not have a tremendous amount of data, mostly pump runtimes. Thanks again for the info!

Do-more cannot attach a log file, but Do-more can email a text string containing logged data. It really depends on your logging requirements as to wether or not Do-more has the capability to fill your need. It will also depend on the authentication requirements of your email server.

What happened to Bobo's post, and my question to Bobo about that post?

What happened to Bobo's post, and my question to Bobo about that post?
Good question. I said something like: Do-more has already implemented attachments for email and it will be in the next release, but the next release is still 6 months or more out. I can speculate on what the most likely question would be, but maybe you could ask it again.

Op wants logging and attaching logfile to email.
Do-more PE says no native logging.
P3K_ADC says no attachment to email.
Bobo says 'something like ' implemented in next release.
I asked if BOTH (Native Logging AND Email Attachment) are in next release.
Thanks Bobo.
