I got my starter kit today. Very nice. Thank you! Two Qs 1) Are there sample programs coming or should I use the P3000 ones? 2) Is a Remote IO controller planned like the P3-RX or P3-EX or should P2000's that need to share points connect through Modbus IP? John

1) Are there sample programs coming or should I use the P3000 ones?
-Answer: We have P3000 example programs at the link below:
http://support.automationdirect.com/examples.html
Once you open the P3000 project file, you can go to the Hardware Configuration and easily convert the project to P2000 using the Convert Tool.
2) Is a Remote IO controller planned like the P3-RX or P3-EX or should P2000's that need to share points connect through Modbus IP?
-Answer: P2-RS = Yes, it is in the works, however no release date due to module is in development.
P2-EX = No, there will be no local expansion available for the P2000. However, we plan to offer a low cost Ethernet remote option instead of local expansion.

Thanks for the quick reply. The conversion tool is very useful.
I look forward to the P2-RS.
The display on the P2-550 (and the future P2-RS) is nice for bench testing and maybe for some applications but typically we are not able to open the control cabinets when in operation due to plant safety requirements. So, like the P3-530 a CPU without the display would be nice.
I have a similar issue with the displays for the analog IO cards. Nice for testing and trouble shooting, but not very useful once in operation. The IO display on the Data View of the Productivity Software is a nice addition!
The 16 bit accuracy on the AI and AO cards is excessive for our applications. 10 bit accuracy is plenty for us and if AI and AO cards with lower accuracy and without displays could be cheaper, that would be a good addition. I think I would probably always order displays on the DI and DO cards if that was an option.
Thanks again!

You have P2000 modules that have buttons that failed? The buttons have been redesigned.

:oSorry for any confusion.
The failed buttons are on P3-16AD-2
I should read more carefully and/or respond more clearly. Now, with two siblings in the Productivity line, I'll have to keep them separated.
Thank you for having me clarify.
