Hello, I'm trying to read a Dart Controls shaft pulse generator powered with 24VDC with a P3000 P3-32ND3 discrete input board. It's only running 80-100 RPM and generates a square wave, one pulse per revolution; I would think that the input could follow that. I don't know what the scan time of my program is, but 100 RPM translates to a square wave with a period of 600 msec, and the response time spec of the input module is only 5 msec, rising and falling. Should be plenty of time to see something, but a counter on the input doesn't increment. I don't have an oscilloscope to look at the input, but my voltmeter shows that it's pulsing (albeit at an average of about 4V, but who knows what the response time of the voltmeter is). Am I asking too much of a regular DC input board, or does this require a high-speed counter? Thanks! Steve Young
